Are Tormek jigs compatible with both the T-8 and T-4?

Yes. All current Tormek jigs work on both the T-8 and T-4. The jigs mount to the Universal Support, so the function is the same regardless of machine size.

Which Tormek jig do I need for sharpening knives?

Most knives are handled with the KJ-45 Centering Knife Jig.

For long or flexible blades, use the KJ-140, and for very small knives pair the SVM-00 with the KJ-45. This covers almost every knife profile found in a shop or kitchen.

What’s the right jig for chisels and plane irons?

Use the SE-77 Square Edge Jig for chisels and bench planes. For planer and jointer knives, the SVH-320 Planer Blade Attachment gives you a straight, consistent edge across the full blade length.

What jig should I use for gouges, skews, and turning tools?
