Belt drive lathes like the JET BDB-919 and BDB-929 are quieter and well suited for lighter turning and threading work. Geared head lathes like the GHB-1236 and GH-1440B handle heavier cuts and a wider threading range with more torque at the spindle.

Which JET metal lathe works on 115V power?

Both the JET BDB-919 and JET BDB-929 run on 115V single phase power. The GHB-1236 and GH-1440B both require 230V single phase.

Do JET metal lathes cut both inch and metric threads?

Yes. All four JET metal lathes in this collection include a quick change gearbox that covers a full range of inch and metric thread pitches. The belt drive models handle 27 inch and 12 metric pitches. The geared head models cover a wider range — up to 36 inch and 32 metric pitches on the GHB-1236.
