What is the difference between variable speed and electronic variable speed (EVS) on JET milling machines?

Variable speed uses a mechanical drive to adjust RPM. Electronic variable speed (EVS) uses an electronic motor controller for smoother, more precise RPM adjustment and more consistent spindle torque under load. EVS models like the JTM-949EVS and JTM-1050EVS2 give you finer control with less wear on the drive system.

Can I add a DRO or powerfeed to a JET milling machine?

Yes. Most JET vertical mills are available in configurations that include a 3-axis DRO, X-axis powerfeed, or both. Standalone powerfeeds are also available in JET Milling Machine Accessories if you want to add one later.

What spindle taper do JET vertical milling machines use?
