Which Laguna drum sander is right for my shop?

It depends on how wide your material is and how often you sand large glue-ups.

  • 16-32 — Best for small shops and everyday sanding on moderate-width stock.
  • 19-38 — A solid all-around choice for panels, furniture parts, and steady daily use.
  • 25-50 — Best for doors, tabletops, and wide glue-ups that need predictable two-pass sanding.

If most of your work stays under 20", choose the 19-38. If you routinely work wider, step up to the 25-50.

Do I need a wider drum sander for big panels or tabletops?

Yes. Wider sanders keep large workpieces stable and reduce rework on wide glue-ups.

Choose based on your largest projects:

  • 16-32 — Good for smaller tabletops and typical furniture work.
  • 19-38 — Handles most hobbyist and pro shop panels.
  • 25-50 — The best choice for oversized glue-ups, tabletops, slabs, and doors.

If you’re gluing up wider panels often, the extra capacity is worth it.
