Laguna Jointers FAQs

What’s the difference between QuadTec II and ShearTec II cutterheads?
  • QuadTec II uses straight-row carbide inserts and offers quiet cutting with excellent finish quality—ideal for small to mid-size shops.
  • ShearTec II uses a 6-row shear-cut insert pattern that excels on dense and highly figured hardwoods, producing an even cleaner surface with reduced tearout on challenging grain.

Can I run my Laguna jointer on 110V or 220V?

It depends on the model.

The JX6 and JX8 QuadTec II jointers run on 110V, but can be upgraded to 220V using Laguna’s 110V to 220V Conversion Kit (SKU 510220).

The JX8 ShearTec II and JX12 ShearTec II require 220V out of the box.

Can I add mobility to my Laguna jointer?

Yes. The Laguna Universal Wheel System fits the JX12, JX8, and JX6 jointers, making shop movement easy without lifting or additional hardware. Built-in wheels are already included on several models, including the JX6 and JX8.

Do you offer Laguna jointer replacement knives?

Yes, we offer replacement knives for all Laguna jointers, and the correct set depends on your cutterhead style:
