Induction Hardened Bed-Ways Support Accurate Carriage Travel
The bed-ways on the BDB-919 are induction hardened and ground to hold a true surface across the full 17.5" of carriage travel. This keeps the cutting tool aligned with the work as it moves along the bed. The result is consistent diameter and surface finish from one end of the part to the other.
Quick Change Gearbox Covers a Wide Range of Threads
The quick change gearbox gives you access to 27 inch thread pitches from 8 to 56 TPI and 12 metric thread pitches from 0.5 to 3.5mm. Switching between thread settings is straightforward without changing gears by hand. The power longitudinal feed also supports threading and reverse threading, which keeps your workflow moving on production runs and repair work.
Precision Tapered Roller Bearings Keep Spindle Running True
The spindle runs on precision tapered roller bearings that resist radial and axial load during cuts. The 3/4" spindle bore accepts bar stock for through-work, and the MT-3 taper with sleeve gives you a reliable interface for centers and tooling. Six spindle speeds from 130 to 2000 RPM let you match the speed to the material and operation.
Safety Controls Stay Within Reach During Operation
The emergency stop is positioned within easy reach of the operator so you can shut the machine down quickly without reaching across the work area. The safety on/off switch and reversing switch give you direct control of the spindle at all times. The full length splash guard keeps coolant and chips contained during wet operations.
