The bedways on the GHB-1236 are induction hardened and ground to a flat, consistent surface. This keeps the carriage tracking true across the full 27-3/8 inch travel. When your bed holds its geometry, your cuts stay where you put them from the first pass to the last.

Enclosed Gearbox Delivers Threading Range Without Constant Gear Changes

The enclosed gearbox gives you 36 inch thread pitches from 4 to 60 TPI and 32 metric thread pitches from 0.4 to 7mm. Feed rates cover 48 longitudinal and 36 cross feed settings. You can work through a wide range of jobs without stopping to swap gears, and the enclosed design keeps the gearbox running quietly and free of chips.

Headstock Gears and Spindle Bearings Maintain Smooth Power Transfer

The headstock uses hardened steel gears paired with roller bearings at the spindle. This combination keeps the spindle running smoothly across all 9 speed settings from 75 to 1400 RPM. The 1.575 inch spindle bore and D1-4 mount give you room to handle a practical range of bar stock and workholding setups.

Foot Brake and Emergency Stop Keep the Operator in Control

The foot brake is built into the stand and within reach any time you are at the machine. The emergency stop is positioned close to the operator. Both controls are there so you can bring the spindle down fast when the job calls for it, without reaching across the work or breaking your stance.

Backlash Adjustment and Offsettable Tailstock Support Accurate Setups

The compound and cross slides have backlash adjustment so you can take up wear and keep your dial readings honest. The tailstock offsets for taper turning, and the MT-3 taper spindle travels 3-1/2 inches. The steady rest with roller bearings supports longer workpieces and holds them stable through the cut.
