Laguna Bandsaw Blades

Laguna bandsaw blades are built to give you steady tracking, clean cuts, and predictable results across hardwoods and everyday shop work. Each blade family has its own strengths, so you can match the blade to the job and get the most from your saw.

Choose your Laguna Bandsaw Blade

  • Resaw King — Best for veneer grade carbide resawing with the smoothest finish. Works best on the 14BX, 14CX, 18BX, and 18CX.
  • ShearForce — Best for thin kerf resawing where reduced vibration and cleaner surfaces matter. Performs best on the mid size and large bandsaws.
  • ProForce — Best for everyday cutting with clean tracking and a wide range of widths and TPIs. Works well on any current Laguna bandsaw.
  • V10 Blade Pack — Best for V10 owners who want a simple three blade set sized for the saw’s 70.5" length.

Which Laguna Bandsaw Blade Is Best for You

Choosing the right bandsaw blade does not need to be complicated. You only need to decide the cut you want, the width your saw handles well, and the blade length your saw requires. The notes below will help you make the right choice.

Picking the right blade family

  • If you want the cleanest, premium resaw finish, choose the Resaw King.
  • If you want a smoother cut without carbide cost, choose ShearForce.
  • If you want a solid all around blade, choose ProForce.

Choosing the correct blade width

  • One eighth to one quarter inch Good for tight curves and detail work.
  • Three eighths inch Balanced choice for general shop work.
  • One half to three quarter inch Tracks straighter for ripping and light resawing.
  • One inch and wider Best for tall resawing and straight line cuts. Most effective on the 14BX, 14CX, 18BX, and 18CX.

If you are unsure, a one half or three quarter inch blade is the safest starting point.

Choosing TPI

  • Three teeth per inch Fast cut through thick hardwood. Rougher finish.
  • Four to six teeth per inch Balanced speed and finish for everyday work.
  • Ten to fourteen teeth per inch Cleaner finish on thin stock. Slower feed.
  • Variable tooth spacing Smoother feed with less vibration. Used on ShearForce and Resaw King.

If you want a clean resaw surface, variable tooth blades are the better choice.

Laguna Bandsaw Blades FAQs

How many blades should I buy for my Laguna bandsaw?

Most woodworkers get farther with a small, reliable set rather than swapping one blade into every job. A practical setup for any Laguna bandsaw is:

  • For curves and detail: ProForce 1/4" or 3/8"
  • For everyday straight cuts: ProForce 1/2" (6 or 10 TPI)
This is the most predictable general blade on every current Laguna saw.
  • For best resawing finish: Resaw King (widest width your saw tensions well)
  • For best steel option: ShearForce 1/2" or 5/8"

If you start with only one blade, choose the ProForce 1/2".

How long should blades last on a Laguna bandsaw, and which hold up best?

Steel blades last weeks to months depending on hardwood use. Wandering cuts, burning, or heavy feed pressure mean the teeth are dull.

Carbide lasts much longer. The Resaw King is the longest-lasting blade Laguna offers and can be sharpened several times, lowering long-term cost.

What width resaw blade should I run on my Laguna bandsaw?

Use the widest blade your saw can tension comfortably:

  • Laguna 1412:
Resaw with ProForce or ShearForce 1/2".
Only run a 3/4" Resaw King if you know your saw tensions well.
  • Laguna 14BX and 14CX:
Best performance with a 3/4" Resaw King.
These saws can run a 1" blade, but most users get steadier cuts at 3/4".
  • Laguna 18BX and 18CX:
Designed to tension 1" and 1¼" Resaw King blades.
This is where veneer-grade resawing becomes easy.

If you want the cleanest cut with almost no sanding, choose the Resaw King.
If you want a smoother steel blade, choose ShearForce.
