Dake Sheet Metal Notchers FAQs

What is a sheet metal notcher used for?

A notcher cuts a square or angled corner out of flat sheet so it can be bent into a box, pan, or enclosure. Dake notchers remove the corner in one hydraulic stroke, so the bend lines meet cleanly with no hand trimming.

What is the difference between a fixed angle and a variable angle notcher?

The Dake DLN-6200 cuts a fixed 90 degree notch, so every corner matches the last with no setup between parts. The Dake DLN-6220V adjusts from 30 to 140 degrees for angled corners. Choose the fixed model for repeat square work and the variable model for mixed jobs.

How thick of sheet metal can a Dake notcher cut?

Both Dake notchers cut mild steel up to 4 gauge (6mm) and handle notches up to 8.5 inches by 8.5 inches. The 8.5 inch blades can be resharpened many times before they need replacing.

What power does a Dake sheet metal notcher need?

Both models run on a 4 HP motor and need 3 phase 220V power. A foot pedal runs each stroke, so your hands stay free to position the sheet. Check your shop power before ordering.
