Dake Vertical Bandsaws FAQs

Can a vertical bandsaw cut both metal and wood?

Yes, if its speed range covers both. The Dake VDL-18 runs 100 to 290 ft/min on the low range for metal and 1,200 to 3,500 ft/min on the high range for wood. One saw can cut steel bar stock and resaw hardwood up to 16 inches tall.

What does a built-in blade welder do on a vertical bandsaw?

It lets you cut, join, and dress blade stock right at the saw. A broken band can be welded and put back to work without waiting on a new one. The Dake V-16, V-26 with Manual Feed Table, and V-26 with Electric Power Table all include one.

What is the difference between the Dake V-26 manual feed and electric power table models?

Both have a 26 inch throat, 13 inch work height, and 3HP motor. On the V-26 with Manual Feed Table, you push the part into the blade by hand. The V-26 with Electric Power Table uses a torque motor and rack and pinion to feed the part over 12 inches of travel.

What power do Dake vertical bandsaws need?

The Dake VDL-18 runs on standard 110V power. The V-16 and both V-26 models run on 220V. For 440V shops, the V-26 with Electric Power Table needs a step-down transformer, part number 300674, sold separately.
