The geared head on the JMD-40GH transfers power directly to the spindle without the slippage you can get from a belt-drive system. Six speed settings cover a range from 65 to 1,550 RPM, and quick-select gear shift levers let you move between speeds without tools or guesswork. You get the right speed for face milling, drilling, or light contouring work without fighting the machine to get there.
R-8 Spindle Accepts Standard Mill Tooling
The R-8 spindle taper is one of the most widely used standards in hobby and light industrial milling. It gives you access to a full range of collets, end mill holders, drill chucks, and face mill arbors without needing special adapters. With 5 inches of spindle travel and a 3-inch quill diameter, you have the reach and rigidity to handle most benchtop milling and drilling tasks cleanly.
Calibrated Fine Downfeed Controls Depth Consistently
The built-in calibrated fine downfeed gives you precise control over how much material you remove with each pass.
