Apollo Needles, Nozzles, Air Caps

Apollo needles, nozzles, and air caps are the parts that control how your coating flows, breaks up, and lays down at the surface. If your finish isn’t behaving the way it should, this is where you dial it in.

  • Air Caps – Change your fan pattern and atomization. Choose standard caps for clears and HS caps for thicker paints.
  • Fluid Nozzles – Set your material flow rate. Smaller sizes for thin coatings; larger sizes for latex, primers, and heavy bodied finishes.
  • Fluid Needles – Must match your nozzle size; replaces wear and restores smooth, consistent flow.
  • Spray Kits – The easiest choice if you want full flexibility. One kit gives you multiple needles, nozzles, and caps for any coating you’ll run.

Apollo Needles, Nozzles, Air Caps FAQs

Do my needle, nozzle, and air cap all need to match the same size?

Yes. The needle and nozzle must always match (ex: 1.3mm needle with a 1.3mm nozzle). The air cap must also be paired to the correct size family (A/B/C/D or HS versions) for proper atomization.

How do I know when to replace a needle or nozzle?

Replace them when you see inconsistent flow, sputtering, leaks at the fluid tip, or uneven spray pattern. Wear is common over time, especially with heavy-bodied coatings.

What’s the difference between Standard and HS (High Solids) air caps?

Standard caps are for clears, stains, and most enamels.

HS caps push thicker coatings—like pigmented waterbornes, latex, or industrial finishes—without starving the gun.

Are 7500-series needles/nozzles compatible with the 7700 gun?

Yes—Apollo replaced the 7500 with the 7700. Some parts may arrive labeled as 7500-compatible but are fully correct for the 7700.
