Apollo Sprayers FAQs

What comes included with an Apollo turbine system? Do I need anything else to start spraying?

Each system includes the 7700 Atomizer gun, your choice of gravity or pressure cup, a 32' hose, and a complete accessory kit with gun case, cleaning tools, and viscosity cup. Nothing else is required to start spraying. Most shops add extra needles/nozzles, additional cups, or filters later as their workflow grows, but the system itself is fully ready out of the box.

What coatings can Apollo HVLP systems spray?

Apollo systems handle a wide range of finishes: waterborne lacquers, conversion varnish, shellac, solvent clears, pigmented coatings, latex (properly thinned), faux finishes, gelcoat, and multi-spec materials. The Precision-6 Pro is the best choice for thicker European waterbornes, while the Power-6 and Power-5 comfortably handle everyday woodworking and finishing materials.

Do Apollo turbines need an air compressor?

No. All Apollo turbine systems — Precision-6, Power-6, and Power-5 — generate their own clean, consistent airflow. This removes the biggest variable in finishing: compressor fluctuation.

A turbine also eliminates water and oil contamination, which is a common issue with compressor setups.

How loud are Apollo HVLP turbines in a shop environment?

Apollo turbines run quieter than typical shop compressors. Most users compare the noise level to a household vacuum. The Precision-6 is slightly quieter under load because of its airflow design. For shops running all day, the consistent turbine sound is easier to work around than the cycling of a compressor.

What maintenance does an Apollo HVLP system require?

Maintenance is simple and takes only a few minutes:

  • Keep turbine filters clean (most shops rinse or replace weekly).
  • Wipe down the 7700 gun’s fluid path after each use.
  • Inspect needle/nozzle wear if you spray abrasives or heavy pigments.
  • Replace cup gaskets if you notice air leaks.

Because the turbines use dry, heated air, they avoid most moisture issues that affect compressor-driven systems.
