These springs tension the catches on the linking arms to ensure immediate and secure positioning during setup and use of your PLANO. Extras are usually supplied with each new clamp, but if you run out, it is highly recommended that you keep some spares on hand, as it is extremely difficult to use a PLANO with a missing spring.
